CULTURES OF PARANOIA AND REPAIR: ART HISTORY AND PANDEMIC DISEASE

These are highlights from my book, which I designed and wrote. I performed the research and created an archive on visual culture and pandemic disease, which helped to inform the project. Within this book I investigate ways in which stigmatization is promoted and countered, actions relating to community care/health activism, and changing ways in which graphic design is used to communicate pandemic disease.

You can read some reflections on this work in a newsletter I created in April 2020, “On Immunity” and in July 2019, “Visual Culture and HIV/AIDS” and “Public Health, the WPA, and Stellar Posters.”
